Liane de Vries, born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was a Dutch singer who performed on various theatre stages all throughout Europe, but mainly in Paris. She started her career most probably 1885 at age 20 in Florence, Italy, where she performed with a dancer, the later famous Carolina Otéro (La Belle Otéro). Many of her portraits were photographed by the atélier Reutlinger in Paris.
