Jean Tam (Jean Jam?)
* ?
† ?
There are quite a lot of pin-up and glamour postcards available with the signature of Jean Tam, but despite extensive search in the internet, we were not able to find any information about this artist. We assume, that his work was published with a pseudonym, but there are actually no proven facts for that. Jean Tam's work was published in "La Vie Parisienne" and "Le Sourire".
His charming and sometimes humorous illustrations seem to be very popular and we think that he might have been some inspiration for the American pin-up artist Gil Elvgren in the 1950s.
The postcards with his illustrations were published by Marque L-E (Librairie de L'Estampe) - Paris.
R. et Cie, imp.-édit., 21 rue Joubert, Paris.
On a few postcards, his name an the back is written Jean Jam. The signature on the front looks more reasonable for Jean Tam, but Jean Jam could be possible too.

In case someone knows more information about Jean Tam, we would appreciate if you let us know.
