This large format book by Ken Jacobson is currently the most comprehensive book about Oriental Photography of the 19th and early 20th century. Next to the historical background it shows a plenty of high quality images of vintage Oriental photography, mostly from the author's own collection. It is supplemented by a large chapter with short biographies of more than hundred Oriental photographers or photo studios. Very helpful is a large bibliography and index.
