This is a beautiful illustrated book about the well known French weekly magazine, first published in 1863 and continued until 1970.
Famous artists of the Belle Epoque, Art Nouveau and Art Deco era, i.e. Georges Léonnec, Chéri Hérouard, Raphael Kirchner, Fabien Fabiano, Maurice Milliere, Suzanne Meunier, Albert Joseph Pénot, or Vald'Es contributed numerous illustrations for this magazine. The topics were mainly theater, art, sports, fashion and novels. In 1905 under the new editor Charles Saglio the the magazine changed to a more risque style.
