Polaire
(Emilie-Marie Bouchard)
* May 13th 1879, Agha (Algeria)
† October 14th 1939, Champigny-sur-Marne (France)
Polaire was a very popular French singer, dancer and actress of the Belle Epoque. She was known for the smallest waist of her time. Polaire was a close friend of famous writer Colette.
Vintage postcards of Polaire are surprisingly rare, this is why our collection is very limited so far.
Polaire wrote an autobiography "Par elle même", which was published in 1933. This and two other biographies are available in French language.
